ERIKA LAU
Stories at the intersection of ecology, people, and power

Erika Lau is a British-Malaysian photographer and documentary filmmaker whose work explores environmental justice, culture, and the relationship between people and place. Alongside her documentary work, she creates content for environmental education platforms and short-form explainers for social media.
She holds two Master’s degrees with Distinction: Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation from Imperial College London, and Documentary Film from the University of the Arts London.
Previously, she worked as a postgraduate researcher at the Zoological Society of London, contributing to the conservation of the Hainan Gibbon, the world’s rarest primate.
