ERIKA LAU
Stories at the intersection of ecology, people, and power

Erika Lau is a Malaysian photographer and documentary filmmaker whose work explores environmental justice, social equity, and the relationship between people and place.
She holds two Master’s degrees with Distinction: Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation from Imperial College London, and Documentary Film from the University of the Arts London.
Her recent short documentary, Limbo (2024), was nominated at the Big Syn International Festival. Previously, she worked as a postgraduate researcher at the Zoological Society of London, contributing to the conservation of the Hainan Gibbon, the world’s rarest primate.
